At smartbags it is our job to bag your brand! We specialise in Woven and Non-woven polypropylene bags and accessories - which are sustainable, vibrant and versatile.

It’s not only our products that make us special. smartbags is a closely knit company with big ideas. Our service is tailored specifically to your needs, resulting in many happy clients and are on hand to answer your questions with big or small enquiries receiving equal expert attention.

Whether it’s meeting hard deadlines or creating a unique looking bag, we pride ourselves in giving the best service around. We assist our clients through a step-by-step process to create a reusable bag that delivers maximum brand exposure with smartbags also a great way of expressing that you care about the environment too – a significant combination to convey for sure!

Our Bags

Our main range of green bags and accessories are made from polypropylene, which is a hard wearing, non-toxic, recyclable material. Polypropylene is durable, low-cost and versatile and can be customised to suit your needs. Woven and Non-woven Polypropylene are contemporary alternatives to similar materials that have a negative impact on the environment. All our products are 100% recyclable and reusable; and even better still are washable and water-repellent!

We understand that eco-bags needs to be suitable for its objective and fit in with your brands image and campaign. That is why we also supply cotton, Jute and bio compostable bags.

Our Supply Chain

When it comes to good workmanship and specialised printing techniques, the best quality is achieved when the bags are made and printed at source of manufacture. We work with the same factories in China since we began business ensuring consistency, reliability and ultimately a high quality product each time. We have an excellent relationship with our factories, and ensure that the best working conditions are upheld. We have done this in three ways:

1. A zero tolerance rule on child labour  - CAPR social compliance certification
2. Annually audited
3. Offering workers a minimum wage
4. Insisting on reasonable working hours in our factories.

Our shipping partners are reliable and long term trusted with excellent corporate social responsibility schemes in place to make sure that the whole process is as ethical as possible - these guys are a very important part of smartbags infrastructure as with our factories.

Our Story

The Smartbags story started in 2006, when founder Leanne Dal Santo was on maternity leave with her 2nd child. Originally from Australia, Leanne was visiting family. Reusable bags are part of everyday life in Australia. A New year's resolution was made to reduce single use bags and start such a company in the UK.

While there, Leanne met Smartbag.com.au and then returned from Australia, Leanne spent the next months developing the eco bag business in the UK. Her partner and husband, Matt Lloyd-Lewis then took over the reins and with his expert sales and operational skills and unerring determination to put smartbags on the map as a leading eco bag wholesale supplier, together with a great loyal support team created a client base to be proud of.

The business continued to grow, and in 2008 Smartbags UK were presented with an Enfield Enterprises Green Business of the Year award and became member's of Ethical Junction.

In 2009 Smartbags became part of the Ethical Fashion Forum network, and took part in their Global Sourcing Marketplace event and sponsored 2010 Retail conference with full colour laminated Non-woven event bags - certainly made a stir!  

So far in 2010, we have upgraded our website, launched some new eco packaging products and continue to work with existing clients whilst and gaining a wide range of new exciting clients too.smartbags are now embarking on a mission to wholesale supply eco bags made from rPET (recycled plastic bottles to be specific!) - it makes sense, it's already a part of what we've been doing with NWPP over the years - opposed to the ever inflated priced cotton and Jute bags!
